The Assosciation Of Civil Engineers, IIT Patna are proud to present to you the maiden edition of Samnivesha. Samnivesha is the annual Technical fest of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DCEE) at IIT Patna. ACE is the official departmental club of the DCEE. We aim to bring together people from all walks of life, encouraging them to engage technically and in the process develop skills in various applications of Civil Engineering. With the first ever edition of Samnivesha, we present to you two days filled to the brim with various events, right from developing plans, testing the limits of knowledge, enlightening discussions and much more, all from the world of construction.

Guest Lecture

Dr. Devdas Menon received his B.Tech. and PhD degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He is presently a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Madras, engaged in teaching, research and consultancy in structural engineering (with a focus on the design of concrete structures). His technical publications include books titled "Reinforced Concrete Design", "Structural Analysis", "Advanced Structural Analysis" and "Handbook on Seismic Retrofit of Buildings". He is presently Chairman of the Bureau of Indian Standards CED 38 Committee on "Special Structures". He has given several talks and seminars on finding meaning and fulfilment in life through awareness and transcendence of one's ego-self. His writings on this theme include books titled 'Stop sleepwalking through life!' and 'Spirituality at work'.
